What to put in your brief

The four things we need to start, the facts that make the work stronger, and what to do if you have no brand kit.

The brief is the text box on the order form. A few minutes is usually enough, and rough notes are fine. The rule behind it: facts you give us are used as they are, and facts you leave out are asked about or left off the page. We do not make them up.

The minimum

For a Growth Page we can start with four things:

  1. Your business name
  2. What you sell
  3. Roughly who buys it
  4. The one action you want a visitor to take, such as call, book or request a quote

For articles, your niche is enough. We plan the topics and keywords from there, and it costs the same as a detailed brief.

Facts that make the work stronger

Include whatever a careful buyer would look for:

  • Prices, or how pricing works, in the currency you quote your customers in
  • Where you work. Which emirates, cities or districts you cover, for example Dubai and Sharjah only, or deliveries across the GCC
  • Credentials. Trade licence, registration or accreditation numbers, years in business, insurance
  • Opening hours and response times
  • What is included in the offer, and what is not
  • Your contact route. The phone number, booking link or chat link the page should send people to
  • Anything we must not say. Topics to avoid, claims you do not make, competitors not to name

A real estate broker might send the communities they cover and their broker registration number. A clinic might send its services, its doctors' qualifications and the licence details it wants displayed.

Extra details for articles

  • Topics or keywords you want covered
  • The page on your site each article should link to
  • The exact anchor text for that link, if you have a preference
  • Whether a batch should go live all at once or be spread out. See Choosing topics, keywords, links and publishing pace

Extra details for a dedicated blog

Tell us what the blog should be called, the address you would like (a subdomain we provide, or your own such as blog.yourbrand.com) and the topics it should cover.

Logos, colours and fonts

If you have a logo, brand colours or a price list, send them. If you do not, say so. The page still gets an original design of its own. See Design, colours and artwork.

Deadlines

If the work is tied to a date, such as an exhibition, a property launch or a seasonal campaign, say so in the brief and we will prioritise the order. See How long delivery takes.

Language

The order forms are in English. If you need Arabic copy or a bilingual page, ask support before ordering so we can tell you what is possible.
