The free start has one rule: it can be used once per website, ever. This article explains how that rule is applied and how to solve the most common problems with a claim.

What "once per website" means

We look at the root of the address you enter. The following all count as the same website:

It makes no difference whether you type http, https or neither.

The rule is applied by the system. If a website has already had its free start, the form tells you immediately and shows the paid options. It does not accept a request that we would later have to refuse.

I have more than one website

Each website gets its own free start. If you run two businesses on two different domains, each of them can claim once. The same website cannot claim twice, whoever submits the form.

Why there is a limit

The limit is what allows the free work to be done properly, with the same research and the same checks as a paid order. Without it, the free pieces would have to be cut down.

The form says my website has been used, and I did not claim it

A colleague, a business partner or a marketing agency acting for you may have claimed it already. Ask within your company first. If nobody did, contact support with the website address and we will look into it.

The confirmation email did not arrive

  1. Check your spam or junk folder.
  2. Make sure you typed your email address correctly.
  3. Submit the form again with the same email address. We send the same confirmation link again.

If it still does not arrive, contact support from that email address.

After your click, a person picks up the claim and production starts within about one business day. The next email you receive is the delivery email with your live links, which is sent once both pieces have passed the quality checks. We do not send progress updates in between. If you are concerned, contact support and quote the reference from your confirmation email.

Can I choose the topics?

The free start is planned from your answer to "What do you do?", so make that answer specific. Detailed briefs with chosen topics, keywords, links and anchor text are part of paid orders.

Can the free page go on my own domain?

The free page is published on an address that we set up and host. If you later order paid work, you can publish to your own domain and move things across, with proper redirects so that nothing is lost. See Using your own domain or subdomain.

Does the free start become a subscription?

No. No card is involved, nothing renews, and a paid order only exists if you deliberately place one. See Paying for your order.
