Connect a domain or move an existing website

Agree DNS, HTTPS, redirects and email checks before changing a live domain.

Tell WONC the domain you want to use, whether a website is already live there, and whether email uses the same domain.

Before a move, agree which pages, files and catalog content should transfer. List important old URLs so redirects can be considered. Website hosting, domain registration and mailbox hosting are separate services unless your proposal says otherwise.

Before changing DNS

Confirm the destination and required records with WONC. Preserve existing email-related records unless a separate email move is agreed. Arrange registrar or DNS access through a secure handover; do not paste credentials in chat.

After the move

Check the main domain and any required www address, HTTPS, main pages, forms, chat and client login. Test your mailbox separately. Report redirect loops, certificate warnings or missing pages with the full address.

Do not remove the old service until the migration checks and any agreed retention period are complete.
